Fiona Coyne appointed as CEO of the Citizens Information Board
The Citizens Information Board (CIB) has announced the appointment of Fiona Coyne as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). She will be taking up the role in December 2021 and her appointment follows an open competition for the recruitment of a CEO.
Fiona has been Acting CEO of CIB since April 2021 and has held several significant senior management roles within CIB, including overseeing the restructuring of the Money Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS) and Citizens Information Service (CIS) companies in 2018. Fiona originally joined CIB in 2014 as the Training Manager. She previously worked as a Director in Caranua and Sport Ireland. Fiona has also worked in a number of Government Departments including the Department of Health. She holds MSc and BA degrees.
Speaking about the appointment Catherine Heaney, Chairperson, CIB said: “I welcome the appointment of Fiona as the new Chief Executive of the Citizens Information Board. I look forward to working with her over the next five years to develop a strategy and deliver a service that continues to support individuals, families and communities at this important time. I am confident she will do an outstanding job for the organisation.”
